About The Window Shop
The Window Shop was established in the tiny town of Corsica, South Dakota in 2003. In 2007, with the business rapidly growing, we relocated 30 miles northeast to the Main Street Historic district in Mitchell. From here, we service all of eastern South Dakota, Northeastern Nebraska, and Southwest Minnesota.
Since the beginning, our purpose has been to provide top-quality windows, doors, and siding and to install them with careful diligence. Our team understands the value of treating every project with the same respect they would use on their own homes.
Meet the Owner
Ben Klovesky, the owner of the “The Window Shop,” has more than 35 years of experience in the Home Improvement industry. From the beginning, he envisioned a company where he could work side by side with family, friends, and community. His goal has always been to help people transform their homes into beautiful spaces to gather together and celebrate life in comfort.

What are the benefits of insulated glass?
Insulated glass improves the U-values and R-values of windows. It also reduces condensation and helps keep heat in and cold out during the winter; and helps keep the heat out and cold in during the summer.
What are R-values and U-values?
R-value measures resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the better the material resists heat transfer. U-value measures heat transfer. The lower the U-value, the better the material insulates against heat loss.
What causes condensation on windows?
Condensation on windows occurs when warm, moist air comes into contact with a cooler surface, causing the moisture in the air to change from a gas to a liquid. Contributing factors include temperature difference, high humidity and poor ventilation.
How do you reduce or prevent condensation?
To reduce or prevent condensation, increase ventilation. Use exhaust fans and open your windows (if possible). You can also use a dehumidifier to decrease the moisture in the air. During high-humidity activities like showering or cooking, you can try to close the door to the room and use an exhaust fan to vent the moist air outside. You can also place moisture absorbers like silica gel or other desiccants near windows can help draw moisture out of the air.
